A provincial nomination is the single best way to assure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada. Unlike arranged employment which is now worth 50 or 200 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points, a provincial nomination is still worth an additional 600 points and practically ensures your Express Entry profile will be at the top of your candidates’ pool and you will receive an ITA. But please note that some provincial nominee streams are still run by the provincial immigration programs and are not affiliated directly with Express Entry while some are.
How to make sense of the dozens of different provincial nominee program streams from Victoria to St. Johns?
We’ve brought together all the provinces (and some territories) nomination programs and their different streams in order to give you a one-stop shopping overview of what’s available. And remember, the information given in the table below is an overview. Consult with us to get the detailed information on any specific PNP stream you may be interested in.
You ready? Let’s do a deep dive into Canada’s PNP streams!
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
Ontario is the 4th largest province or territory in Canada but it is by far and away the most populous province in Canada, containing one third of the country’s population. The vast majority of these people are located in southern Ontario, which makes up about 1/6th of the total land area. It is the most densely populated part of Canada, meaning there are more immigrants here than anywhere else, but there is also more competition for jobs.
Ontario has two types of PNPs: one linked to Express Entry and one separate from Express Entry.

British Columbia (commonly known as BC) is the 5th largest and third most populous province or territory in Canada. Its southwest corner, where most people live, has the most moderate weather in the country which makes it the best destination for new immigrants who are concerned about Canada’s notorious winters. The province features perhaps the best scenery in the entire country. BC is home to the third largest metropolitan area in Canada, Vancouver.
BC has both Express Entry and non Express Entry “streams” for immigrants who want to live there.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
Manitoba is the 8th largest but 5th most populous province or territory in Canada. Located at the other end of the prairies from Alberta, Manitoba is home to Winnipeg, one of the ten largest cities in Canada. Manitoba is notoriously cold in the winter time but the summers can be quite hot. Manitoba has had a growing economy for quite some time so they need workers; its PNP is more accessible than some others.
Unlike the other provinces on this page, Manitoba does not yet offer an Express Entry-linked PNP.
MPNP Not Linked to Express Entry
Though Maxcan Immigration is located in Markham, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area, we can help with all PNP applications except for Saskatchewan applications.
